There was a short ride to the Lesotho Border control. The formalities were completed fast. The one border post official had a short exchange of pleasentries in German with me \ud83d\ude42 . I met a very nice American couple with their South African guide at dinner the previous evening. The guesthouse was very nice and as it was not in the centre of town quite peaceful. We the drove back and forward through town looking for the other people that he was taking. Eventually we got off to the trip. The road was not much better than the trails I had been riding the previous days. I got off to an early start. All the teachers were still asleep so I did not have the opportunity to say goodbye. It started off cool but not uncomfortable. The scenery was spectacular. Most of the day I had the road to myself. The peace and quiet is lovely. The first 3 hours was a climb of just over 1000m. The Eiger looked down on me the whole way. The weather was great. Jungfraujoch is 3460m high. We had fabulous views of the Eiger, Eiger glacier and Aletsch glacier. ps.
